Reading doesn’t just mean recognizing each word on the page: it means taking in the information, digesting(消化) it and incorporating (吸收) it into oneself just as one digests a sandwich and makes it a part of himself. The goal is to bring the information back to life, not just to treat it as dead facts on paper. Reading and writing cannot be completely separated from each other; in fact, the aim of reading is to express the information you have got from the text. People who can’t express an idea after reading a text is just as ineffective as those who haven't read it at all.

Learning English has been almost a painful experience for me, one that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Not only did learning English teach me the value of hard work, but also gave me insights(领悟) into another culture. The most exciting result of having learned English is that I am able to communicate with many more people than before. Talking with people is my favorite activity, so the newly learned language allows me to meet new people, participate in conversations, and form new and unforgettable friendships.

注意搭配
这里的搭配主要指一些固定搭配，如“学习知识”不能用"learn knowledge"，而必须用"acquire knowledge"，"concern"后面的介词必须跟"over"而不是"of",这些都是我们要好好学习的地方，可以通过日常积累，比如看英文报刊等等。
注意时态
根据一些调查，发现同学们考试翻译时，容易一看到中文就马上翻译成英语，连前面的句子信息都省略不看，在此，我非常不赞同这个做法，前面的句子或短语包含的不只是信息也有时态之类的，如果直接上手写，那么也就是等于直接放弃这最好拿的得分点。
学会变通词汇
很多同学会碰到这样一件囧事，就是忽然间想不起一个词对应的英文单词是什么。不用担心，我们可以另辟蹊径，很多词汇是不止一个意思的，这时候我们不会某一个单词的话，可以通过其他的表达方式将其表述出来。一种方法是试着用几个词去解释这个单词，二是找个相近的英文单词来代替。
选词要贴切
翻译时选词要注意语境和文章的文体，每个词在上下文中用得恰当、自然、和谐。英语中有许多同义词，平时要多注意同义词在不同上下文中的用法，因为即使是同义词或近义词在意义或色彩上甚至用法上也不是完全一样的。
用词要通俗易懂
用词要规范，尽量使用书面语言，少用俚语、生僻词或陈词滥调，以免影响译文效果。
